Configure Access to Teams Bot

All steps below are performed in Barista Admin at {tenant}.espressive.com/admin.

Add the Azure Group to Barista

  1. Navigate to {tenant}.espressive.com/admin.
  2. Click Integration Hub in the left navigation.
  3. Click Configure on the Microsoft Teams card.
  4. On the Connect (Preferred) tab, scroll to the Add Azure Group section.
  5. Enter the Azure Object ID from the Azure Configuration Instructions in the input field.
  6. Click ADD and click Save.

New users added to the Azure group are automatically synced every 24 hours.

If you used a Setup Policy to scope visibility, apply that same policy to all users in the Azure group. Otherwise, Barista will not be installed for them in Teams.

Trigger the Welcome Message

The Welcome Message is required for users to receive proactive notifications from Barista, including ITSM ticket updates and announcements.

Wait several hours after completing the app availability and Setup Policy configuration in Teams before sending the Welcome Message. Microsoft can take several hours to propagate policy changes, and Barista must be installed and visible in the sidebar for users before the Welcome Message is sent.

  1. In Barista Admin, navigate to Integration Hub.
  2. Click Configure on the Microsoft Teams card.
  3. Open the Connect (Preferred) tab.
  4. Scroll to the Add Azure Group section.
  5. Find the Azure Group you added and click the ellipsis (...) next to it.
  6. Select Send Welcome Message .
  7. In the confirmation dialog, click Send.

To monitor delivery progress, use the following API call: GET https://{tenant}.espressive.com/api/common/v0.1/job_status/
