Prerequisites

Prerequisites: Gather Required Information​

Before configuring the Barista integration, ensure you have the following information prepared.

ServiceNow Credentials​

  • ServiceNow instance URL
    Format: https://[instance].service-now.com

  • Admin credentials
    Username and password for a ServiceNow account with sufficient privileges

  • Required permissions
    The account must be able to:

    • Import update sets
    • Create and modify users
    • Configure integration settings

  • Additional access requirements (if applicable)

    • VPN access
    • Multi-factor authentication (MFA)
    • IP allowlisting

ESP Integration User Password​

  • A secure password for the ESP integration user
    (This user will be created or generated within ServiceNow)

Use the same password in both ServiceNow and Barista to ensure successful authentication.

User Provisioning Criteria​

  • Define which users should be synchronized from ServiceNow, such as:
    • All active users
    • Specific departments
    • Locations
    • Roles

ServiceNow should already be enabled on the Status Page. If the integration is not visible in the Admin page, navigate to:

https://{tenant}.espressive.com/status → Display Settings → Integrations → enable the ServiceNow toggle.
