Introduction to the Activity Designer
The Activity Designer is a flexible tool that helps you create custom automation activities that meet your company's specific needs. With the Activity Designer, you have control over the creation of activities that can serve a variety of purposes, based on your unique automation requirements.
Accessing the Activity Designer

To create or add a new activity, click + New Activity in the lefthand menu.

Create an Activity from Python
The Activity Designer offers the option to create a new activity via upload of a Python script.
Create Open API Activity
OpenAPI definitions describe all the methods and parameters of a REST API. You can upload an OpenAPI document into Resolve Actions to generate activities corresponding to the API’s parameters and methods.
Importing Activities
If you have a custom activity that was created in a different environment or an activity downloaded from the VAR::EXCHANGE, you can import it into your current environment.
Actions on Activities
The top bar of the Activity Designer combines the tab bar that you can use to switch between open activities, and the toolbar that gives you a variety of actions that can be performed on the activity displayed on the canvas. Only one activity at a time can be displayed on the canvas.
Actions on Categories
New categories can be created, and existing categories can be deleted or edited.
